The Entire Reed Team 2021

The entire Reed Team from Chartwell Kansas City Realty needed to update their personal branding headshots. Why you might ask? Because the team had grown to a total of seven agents. The original agents had some headshots taken a few years earlier, but weren't satisfied with their look. Overall, everyone needed to have a new real estate branding headshot and for the look to be consistent with their fellow agent in order to make the team's branding cohesive.

To solve this problem we decided we would get everyone together on a Friday afternoon at their downtown Kansas City office and get everyone photographed in the same session. This approach enabled us to ensure the lighting and style was consistent for everyone.

We did two background options with multiple poses for each agent in order to provide some variety to choose from and use in various settings. We started with shooting in the upstairs space using natural lighting and the look of the office space out of focus in the background to reinforce the feeling of a working professional. We took photos in both portrait and landscape to provide some greater variety to the look and usage opportunity for each agent.

We then went down to the main floor where a white seamless backdrop and a single studio light was set up. We used this second option for a couple of reasons. First off it gives us the option of having a clean white background so we can either lay text copy in the frame or cut out the agent for any future layering style. We took advantage of this after the shoot when creating the virtual group photo of the entire team. This virtual group photo is now the hero image on the team's website, which you can check out here.

The other reason for the clean white background is there are times, such as your profile photo when you need a cleaner, solid color background in order for your face to show up better when it is a small icon.

During each agent's session we had the photos live fed to my 11-inch iPad Pro so they could see each frame come through. This allowed them to see how they were looking while shooting. As a result we were able to quickly work together to get posing and angles looking great. After the shoot session each agent had a few minutes to review all the images taken and to tag their favorites. This allowed me to more quickly find the agent's favorites once I was back in the office and to make sure those made it through the editing process.

Overall, in a short two hour session we were able to refresh the brand images for all seven agents with multiple framing options and backgrounds. Each of these agents now have a clean, updated headshot that can be used in many different places from profile photos, to listing flyers, to their business cards.

If you work for another Chartwell team, Century 21, Remax, Coldwell Banker, Keller Williams Realty, ReeceNichols or Sotheby's International Realty and you are based out the Kansas City metro area it is time to update your personal real estate branding photos as a real estate agent. You may not realize this, but your face and that smile are your brand. Let's make sure we show it off in a consistent way that supports who you are as a brand.
